Semeru, Java's highest mountain and an active volcano, obscures the waterfall. The waterfall's primary water source is the Glidik River, which flows down Semeru. Tumpak Sewu roughly translates to "a thousand waterfalls" in Javanese. The name most likely refers to the appearance of multiple waterfalls in a single, semicircular area.

The area is one of East Java’s most famous tourist sites, and the volcano is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Bromo is a Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. Mount Bromo is located in the “Sea of Sand” environmental reserve, Mount Bromo has erupted several times, the most recent in 2010.

Kalibaru

Kalibaru is a city located southwest of Banyuwangi. It is a heaven for agricultural tourism fans because it has fertile soil and cool air, a big number of plantations that produce coffee, rubber, and cocoa, and the locals continue to preserve local culture, which attracts travelers to this location. It is the center of the chocolate plantation, with an old industry operating within it. They produce original processing of coffee bean, palm sugar, and chocolate using an old Dutch machine.
